We parted ways based on Religion. Both nations were severely hurt during the partition, and since then, have had fights but have also evolved in their own unique ways. This is a strong reminder that we are all one in spirit and culture. Our people both intrinsically want the same thing -> To become better than what we were back then, in all aspects. To win. This is isn’t easy but we will get there. We (the people) can and must rise above political and religious dispute to find happiness in the things we share – Cricket, Arts, Music, Cuisine and most importantly History.

I love the fact that this actually happened and I love the positive reactions from so many non-Indians. Every now and then Cricket becomes a far greater unifying factor than we like to believe and in my opinion this is a factor as to why we love cricket. You only make a rival out of someone if you care about them.
